5 Things You Need to Know: May Day, Bike to School, Laughter

The first day of May 2013, the first five things you need to know for Needham and Wellesley.

 

1. The National Weather Service says: same as yesterday. 70ºF highs, 41ºF lows, sunny by day, and mostly cloudy at night.

2. May 5 is set aside for kids to walk or bike to school, but Needham is celebrating Mass Walk and Bike to School Day on May 1st. Biking or walking to school is encouraged, although optional.

3. To celebrate the beginning of May with a trip around the Maypole, the Hills Branch Library is hosting a Traditional May Day Celebration. It starts at 10:30 a.m. at the Wellesley Library Hills Branch in the Jack Ramsden Children's Room.

5. A small loan can make a big difference. If you are skeptical, you have a chance to Meet and Greet Author and Subject of “One Hen:  How One Small Loan Made a Big Difference", Author Katie Smith Milway and Kwabena Darko of Ghana are coming to Wellesley Books at 3 p.m.
