Local Student Named National Merit Semifinalist

Keller Scholl, son of Craig and Rebecca Scholl of Needham and a student at Commonwealth School in Boston's Back Bay, has been named as a semifinalist by the National Merit Scholarship program.

Eleven Commonwealth students were named as semifinalists, more than at any other co-ed high
school in the Boston area. Over the last five years, 23 percent of Commonwealth seniors have been named as semifinalists.

The honor is based on a student's scores in the PSAT; nationwide, less than one percent of high school seniors qualify to be semifinalists.
