Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital–Needham Names Cheryl Trottier Employee Of The Year

From Beth Israel Deconess Medical Center: Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital–Needham (BID–Needham) has honored Cheryl Trottier of Rehoboth with its 2016 Employee of the Year Award. Trottier, who has worked at BID–Needham for four years, was recently promoted to the role of practice coordinator in the hospital’s Specialties Clinic, which is home to a number of specialists and outpatient services including cardiology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, infectious disease, nephrology, neurology, neuropsychology, orthopaedics, pain management, podiatry, pulmonary, rheumatology, sleep, speech and voice. The hospital also recognized 58 other employees for milestone years of service, including Lynda Coburn, a nurse in the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) who has worked at the hospital for 40 years.

“Cheryl’s compassion for her patients and her work is clear to everyone she interacts with,” said Heidi B. Alpert RN, MS, Senior Clinical Director, BID–Needham. “Patients visibly relax when Cheryl is caring for them. She works tirelessly to make them feel secure and comfortable in the procedure unit and specialty clinic. She is a true leader and works hard to make sure that the Specialties Clinic runs smoothly.”

“I’m thrilled and honored to receive this award,” Cheryl said. “It doesn’t feel like work when you enjoy what you do and the people you’re surrounded by. My job is so fulfilling and I love working with patients and supporting our incredible doctors, nurses and staff.”

The Employee of the Year selection is based on peer nominations submitted to a committee which evaluates each nomination for consistent demonstration of the hospital’s core values. BID–Needham also honored 58 hospital employees for five, 10, 15, 25, 35, and 40 years of service. One employee was recognized for 40 years of service to BID–Needham: Lynda Coburn, a nurse in the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU).
