The Needham Merchants Association, in conjunction with the Town of Needham Health and Planning Departments, and Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital Needham, is committed tospreading the word about heart disease and women. They want to save lives by urging town-wide participation in the American Heart Association’s GO RED FOR WOMEN.
On the afternoon of February 14th, Needham’s Wear Red Day, starting at 1:00 p.m., we will behosting an educational event at Powers Hall in Town Hall. Come get a free blood pressurescreening, watch Needham’s own Dr. Jane Fogg’s talk about the effects of heart disease onwomen, watch Elizabeth Bank’s comical short film “Just a Little Heart Attack,” watch videosfrom the American Heart Association explaining the warning signs of heart attacks in women,pick up literature to educate yourself and your loved ones about heart disease, and pick up yourRed Dress pin. Share your story of battling heart disease with others at our “It Can Happen toAnyone” table. Fill out a registration card for Go Red For Women to show your support; take aquiz and get a dark chocolate heart. Peruse local restaurant heart healthy recipes you can makeat home. The Hall will be open until 5:00 p.m., so join us in getting the word out.
