Fentanyl Possession, Larceny: Needham Police Log

August 27
7:00 p.m. - An officer observed a man sitting outside a Franklin Street business. After speaking with the individual and upon a further investigation, 33-year-old Ryan Frates of Sharon arrested and charged with possession of heroin, possession of fentanyl, and town by-law violation consuming alcohol in public.

11:00 a.m. - A walk-in to the station reported attempted fraud. A report was filed and she was advised to contact her bank.

7:00 a.m. - An officer observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed stopped the vehicle on Great Plain Avenue near Mayo Avenue. Upon further investigation, a 24-year-old Providence, Rhode Island woman was issued a summons for operating a motor vehicle with suspended/revoked registration, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and speeding.
3:10 p.m. - An officer was dispatched to a West Street business for the report of a customer causing a disturbance. After a brief investigation, 20-year-old Jinglin Zhou of Dover was placed under arrest and charged with disorderly conduct and operating after suspension.
9:00 p.m. - An officer was dispatched to a business on Great Plain Avenue in Needham Square for a report of a past larceny.
August 30
12:35 p.m. - An officer responded to Hillside Avenue at Hunnewell Street for a two-car crash. Two people were transported to BI Needham by ambulance with possible injuries. One vehicle was towed. A citation for failure to stop at a stop sign was issued to a driver.
4:00 p.m. - Needham Police along with Needham Fire responded to kitchen fire on Linden Street. The fire was extinguished.
