Needham-Based GateHouse Media Sued Over Unpaid Taxes

GateHouse has "failed and refused to pay" over $1M in unpaid property taxes to the Town of Needham, according to court-filed complaint.

GateHouse Media, a publishing company located in Needham, has been sued for nearly $1 million in unpaid property taxes, The Boston Globe reports.

The company has “failed and refused to pay” $969,000 in taxes owed on equipment, according to a complaint filed in Norfolk Superior Court.

The unpaid taxes date back to 2009, according to the complaint. The amount now due to the Town of Needham after interest is $1.4 million.

David Tobin, a town counselor in Needham, told the Globe that GateHouse’s president ignored a recent letter seeking to collect payment.

GateHouse is located on 2nd Avenue in Needham and prints many local newspapers for towns across New England.
