Needham High Honors Legendary Soccer Coach With New Scoreboard
The scoreboard was built in honor of Don Brock. Brock collected five state championships during his 48 years spent as coach of Needham.
Needham High School unveiled a new scoreboard at DeFazio Park on Saturday in honor of legendary boys soccer coach Don Brock.
Folks gathered for a ceremony ahead of Needham’s home game opposite Newton South Saturday afternoon. The scoreboard, donated by the Needham Soccer Club and NHS Soccer Alumni, boldly reads “Brock Field.”

Brock started coaching Needham in 1961. He kept the position for 48 seasons, collecting 696 wins and five state titles over that time.
A section of the bleachers at the park were also dedicated to Brock.

The 2015 edition of the Needham boys soccer team is currently ranked 1st in the state.
