Needham Police Log: Three Charged with B&E, Driveway Crash, and More

Friday, May 24

  • At about 2:15 p.m., police were dispatched to a crash in the driveway at 300 Second Avenue. While one car was exiting the parking lot, it crashed into a second driving on Second. The Fire Department transported one driver to the hospital with minor injuries. 
  • A car parked in front of a Parkvale Road home was sideswiped some time before the 2:45 p.m. report from the owner's mother. The second vehicle did not stop, and continued driving toward Green Street. Police are investigating the matter. 
  • Vandalism reported at an Evelyn Road home, where a woman told police that someone had thrown a rock through her window before 4:30 p.m.

  • 2:25 a.m., police saw a raccoon that appeared to be dragging itself in the CVS parking lot on Highland Avenue. On closer inspection, the officer reports it was unable to use its hind legs, and that the injuries appeared severe. Police dispatched the injured creature, and arranged for Animal Control to pick it up.
  • Police took a report of a lost license at about 11 a.m. from a Parker Road resident. 
  • Captain Robert Cook Drive, police took a report of a breaking-and-entering incident at a resident at about 5:45 p.m. Police were able to locate the suspects, and three teenage girls from Needham, a 14-year-old, a 13-year-old and a 15-year-old will be charged with breaking-and-entering with intent to commit misdemeanor.
