Thursday, April 25

  • Police received a report of a past verbal assault at a business on Hampton Avenue. At about 2 p.m., a man came into the police station to report an incident between himself and an employee. Nothing physical had occurred, and he was given options.

  • Some time over the weekend, according to police, someone broke two windows at Broadmeadow School.  Police took a report at about noon, and have no suspects at this time.
  • 3:30 p.m., police on Highland Avenue, near the 250 block, performed an RMV check on a vehicle and learned that the vehicle's registration had been revoked because of canceled insurance. Officers removed the plates and summonsed the driver, a 35-year-old Everett man, for driving a vehicle while unlicensed and driving a vehicle on a revoked registration.

Tuesday, May 7

  • Parker Road, police arrested and charged a 24-year-old Greendale Avenue resident Andrew Purcell with operating on a suspended license and an equipment violation.
  • At about 1:30 a.m., police were patrolling on Great Plain Avenue near Dedham Avenue. Officers performed an RMV check on the vehicle, and learned at the driver had a suspended license. The driver, 30-year-old Juana Prandy of Roslindale was arrested and charged with driving on a suspended license.
  • While Patrolling on Hillside Avenue, police responded to an address on the street to keep the peace between a landlord and tenant. After taking all of his things out of the apartment, the tenant and his associates left without incident.
  • At the Hersey upper parking lot, police responded to look into possible vandalism on a vehicle parked in the lot. Police believe that the broken driver's side window was caused by "an errant golf ball," according to their report.
  • 5:15 p.m., police responded to a past breaking-and-entering incident at a Highland Avenue business. About $700 in cleaning equipment was stolen, and police are investigating.

  • A Hillside Avenue business reported missing Registry of Motor Vehicle documents at about 3 p.m. Police went to investigate.
  • Several items were reportedly taken from the scene of a residential breaking-and-entering incident on Edgewater Drive. At about 11:30 p.m., police determined that entry was made, and police are investigating the matter.

Thursday, May 9

  • An oversized vehicle was having difficulties with a turn from Manning Street onto Hemlock Road at about 7:15 a.m. With the help of several Needham Police units, the vehicle was guided onto Hemlock and to its destination. Police reported damage on Central and Woodlan Avenue, and police are investigating.
  • Vandalism reported at a home on Grosvenor Road, 5:30 p.m. The resident said that a contractor was attempting to tamper with some installed equipment. Police are investigating the matter.
  • After a crash at Highland Avenue and Mellen Street, police determined that the operator of one vehicle rear-ended the other vehicle. The driver of that vehicle, a 49-year-old Wilmington woman was summonsed to Dedham district court for operating without a license and failing to use care when stopping after the 6:15 p.m. incident. The owner of the vehicle, a 58-year-old Wilmington man was issued a citation and summonsed for allowing unlicensed operation of his car.
