Friday, May 3

  • A First Avenue business reported a disturbance between two delivery drivers. The two men began arguing over who would make the delivery first, 8:30 a.m. Neither party pressed charges, and both were advices to contact Needham Police before a future argument.
  • 5 p.m., police stopped a driver with an expired reigstration sticker. Police arrested and charged the driver, Jeffrey Cook, 50 of Edgartown, with driving on a suspended license, attaching vehicle plates, and operating an uninsured and unregistered vehicle. 

Saturday, May 4

  • Pedestrian struck on Great Plain Avenue, although not on a crosswalk. The pedestrian was taken, with injuries, to Needham Beth Israel Hospital. The driver was cited for a prohibited U-turn.
  • Needham Police arrested and charged a 49-year-old man from Ardmore Road, Stevan Gold, with domestic assault-and-battery. 

Sunday, May 5

  • At about 11:45 a.m., police were sent to a past property crash on Harris Avenue. Police assisted with the exchange of information and advised those involved to contact their insurance companies.
  • Police stopped a vehicle with a rejected inspection sticker on Highland Avenue, near the 900 block. The vehicle's registration was also revoked, and the driver had a suspended license. Police also learned that the driver, Dorchester man, Robert Winbush, 51, had an outstanding warrant. They arrested him on that warrant at about 5 p.m., and additionally charged him with driving on a suspended license, driving an unregistered and uninsured vehicle, and driving with a rejected inspection sticker. 
  • 11:30 p.m., police respond to a crash on Forest Street, then arrest the 60-year-old Central Avenue resident, Brian Barron, and charge him with operating under the influence.
