Police officers scrambled to Hunting Road in Needham Thursday after learning of a female motorist who struck a curb, barrier, and fire hydrant before her vehicle rolled over onto its side.Around 4 p.m., officers responded to Hunting Road at Sachem Road and found the woman's Lexus SUV laying on its side. According to police, the driver inadvertently left the roadway and flipped her vehicle over a fire hydrant. The driver was transported to Beth Israel Needham for evaluation. Police said she did not sustain serious injury. When asked about the crash, the driver stated she did not recall what had happened.The SUV sustained heavy damage and had to be towed from the scene. The fire hydrant was knocked of its base and the barrier around it was knocked over. Police cited the woman for a marked lanes violation.
