Needham Police Warn Of Suspected Mail Thefts
Potential thefts were reported from U.S. Postal Service mailboxes between Saturday afternoon and Monday morning.

NEEDHAM, MA — The Needham Police Department is warning residents of potential thefts from U.S. Postal Service mailboxes between Saturday afternoon and Monday morning.
Police recommend that anyone who placed checks in mailboxes in town during this timeframe contact their banks to cancel the checks and ensure their accounts are safe.
Be sure to inform the intended recipient of the check that it was canceled and plan to make new arrangements, Needham police suggest.

"As a matter of practice, we suggest that residents do not place checks into blue USPS mailboxes, or in the outgoing mail from your residence," Needham police wrote in a tweet. "The only secure way to mail checks is to physically walk them into the post office."
