Needham Resident Wins Vermont Snowboard Competition

Holden Barth, of Needham Heights, was one of the winners of the 12th Annual Champlain College Ski and Ride Club Rail Jam.

The event, which took place on Nov. 6 at the Finney Quad on the Champlain College campus, featured snow brought in from local ice rinks as well as rails and boxes for competition by the Champlain Ski and Ride Club.

The winners were chosen by guest judges from the ski and snowboard community and received gear and prizes from various sponsors such as Burton Snowboards, Saga Outerwear, Red Bull and Sugarbush Parks.

The winners for the snowboard competition are as follows:

  • 1st place-Holden Barth
  • 2nd place-Neal Cummings
  • 3rd place-Will Muench

The winners for the ski competition include:

  • 1st place-Christian Franchino
  • 2nd place-Joey Favara
  • 3rd place-Taylor Bibaud

In addition, the winner of the best trick competition for snowboarders was Nathan Smith, and Taylor Bibaud was awarded winner of the best trick competition for skiers.
