Needham Woman ID’d As Driver Who Died In Fiery I-93 Crash In NH

DERRY, NH — New Hampshire State Police are investigating a crash that killed a Massachusetts driver on Interstate 93 in Derry on Wednesday.

Around 6:15 p.m., state troopers were sent to the southbound side of the highway for a report of a crash between a car and a tractor-trailer truck. During the crash, the truck, driven by Luciano Miguel Garone, 26, of Stallings, North Carolina, caught on fire.

The driver of the car, a 2009 Lexus ES350, was pronounced dead at the scene.

On Friday, she was identified as Maya Muchnik, 78, of Needham, MA, Amber Lagace, the public information officer for state police, said. The department’s Collision Analysis & Reconstruction Unit was requested and has led the investigation.

All aspects of the crash remain under investigation, she said.
