3 Newton Second Graders Win Recognition In NH PBS Writing Contest
Congratulations to three very creative Newton second graders.

NEWTON, MA — Three second graders from Ward Elementary caught the eye of New Hampshire Public Television with their story telling ability. The station released the names of the winners of the 2019 NHPBS Kids Writers Contest on May 29. The Ward School's Kaveri G, won third place for the second grade category and Grace H. and Daniel G both got honorable mentions for their stories.
This, the 25th year of the contest had more than 12,800 children participating mostly from New Hampshire but also from across the country and as far south as New York and as far west as Oregon.
The contest promotes the nonprofit’s commitment to promote reading, writing, and creative expression in children and aligns with the state’s writing and reading standards, according to the website.
