5 Things You Need to Know Today: June 15
Dar Williams, car wash fundraiser, infant story time and more.

1. With a sunny day comes your first opportunity in awhile to wash your car. The Newton North Class of 2015 wants to help. The class is holding a car wash fundraiser today from noon to 3 p.m. at NNHS. A sparkling car, $10 out of your pocket and a good deed.
2. Dar Williams will be in town tonight for a special concert at First Baptist Churchh in Newton at 8 p.m. Newton's own New Philharmonia Orchestra is joining the recording artist for her performance. Tickets are available online.
3. In other music news for today, The Royal Wind Music will be in town tonight at 8 p.m. at Second Church. The performace is free.

4. It's the last day this month to drop off electronics and appliances for recycling at the Rumford Avenue Recycling Center. Televisions and computer monitors are $12 each, but all other accepted electronics can be dropped off for free. Drop-off hours are 8 a.m. to noon. Here's the list of accepted items.
5. The Newton Free Library will welcome children up to 2 years old and their caregivers for special story times today. There are two options: 10 a.m.-10:30 a.m. and 11 a.m.-11:30 a.m. Space is limited, so pick up a ticket 30 minutes beforehand at the Children's Desk.
