1. Happy Father's Day to all the Newton dads out there!

2. There's a martial arts showcase this afternoon at Newton North High School to benefit the Helen Gee Chin Scholarship Foundation. The showcase is put on by Calvin Chin's Martial Arts Academy (CCMAA) and tickets will be available at the door for $20.

3. The Newton Free Library will welcome folksinger Gail Finnie Rundlett, guitar and Appalachian dulcimer; Kenny Selcer, guitar/vocals; and Julian Rundlett, piano, acoustic guitar and vocal harmonies for a concert this afternoon. The concert begins at 2 p.m. in the Druker Auditorium.
