1. It's summery out there, which means it's time to barbecue. The Newton Senior Center is hosting a Summer Barbecue today at 11:30 a.m. The cost is $3.

2. The Indoor Farmers' Market continues just a couple of more weeks. Stop by the Hyde Community Center from 1:30 p.m.-6 p.m. to take advantage of the fresh local offerings.

3. The Waban Library Center is hosting a panel discussion tonight at 7:30 p.m. of "Lean In," the book co-authored by Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg and Nell Scovell. Guests need not have read the book to participate in the discussion.

4. The Land Use Committee is scheduled to meet tonight at 7 p.m. at Newton City Hall. The agenda includes discussion of the Riverside Development as well as renovations to Hotel Indigo in Lower Falls.

5. Farm Sprouts meets today at 10 a.m. the Newton Community Farm. This weekly event is designed to introduce preschool and kindergarten-aged children to farm life. Registration is required, so if you aren't registered for today, call ahead to register for the next session.
