Summer hours at swimming spots, summer reading kickoff and an upcoming meeting restaurant owners/managers.

1. Is the new site treating everyone OK? We know that it will take some getting used to, but please continue to post your events and announcements and blogs and photos and comments. And if you have questions or run into issues, don't hesitate to reach out to Community Editor Bill Gilman or me, Brooklyn Lowery, your local editor.
2. The Off-Leash Area Working Group will gather this morning at 9:30 a.m. at Newton City Hall.
3. The Newton Free Library is kicking off this year's summer reading program with a visit from Minstrel Storyteller Mary Jo Maichack. Children ages 4 and up are invited to take part in a variety show introduction to this summer's "Dig Into Reading" theme.
4. Gath Memorial Pool and Crystal Lake are now open for their regular summer hours.
5. Looking Ahead: Newton restaurant owners and managers are invited to a meeting on July 10 to learn about the new food inspection system and provide feedback to officials. There's a survey available online seeking input from owners and managers; it also includes a place to RSVP for the July 10, 6:30 p.m. meeting at 295 California St.
