Waban Village Day, Newton Home Tour, annual Memorial Day parade.

1. Waban Village Day. Waban will celebrate its village charm today with the annual Waban Village Day. The day kicks off at 11:30 a.m. with the Newton North Jazz Ensemble. The rest of the festivities include more music, games and more. There are some street closings in the area (Beacon Street and Woodward; Wyman Street; Pine Ridge Road.
2. Newton's Annual Memorial Day Parade. If you're looking for a little more fun today, don't miss Newton's Annual Memorial Day Parade. City officials, organizations and others will march in the annual patriotic event, which steps off at 2 p.m. from Our Lady's Church. Check out more details.
3. 2013 Newton Home Tour. This annual event is always a big draw. It begins at The Jackson Homestead and Museum at noon and focuses on a number of non-commercial properties in Newton that showcase excellence in historic preservation and creative adaptation. The event is a major annual fundraiser for Historic Newton.
