Prayer breakfast, canceled blood drive, launch of the Newton Asian Pacific Americna Network and more.

1. The 39th annual Theodore D. Mann Mayor’s Community Prayer Breakfast takes place this morning at Boston College. Patch will be on hand to provide coverage of the breakfast, during which Sen. Elizabeth Warren will be a featured speaker.
2. Revisit a piece of Newton's history. Historic Newton’s traveling exhibit "Return to Norumbega: Romance and Recreation by the River" will be at the Newton Senior Center today from 1 p.m.-2 p.m. Registration is required.
3. A new group is celebrating its inception tonight. The Newton Asian Pacific American Network will celebrate its founding with a meet and greet at 1151 Walnut St., in Newton Highlands tonight at 6:30. Guests will meet members of Newton's Asian American community and learn about becoming a member of the group.

4. The Newton Democratic City Committee will host a gun safety forum tonight at Mason-Rice Elementary School. State Sen. Cyntha Creem, Rep. David Linsky and Newton Mayor Setti Warren are expected to participate. The evening will also include an update on Ed Markey's U.S. Senate campaign.
5. The blood drive scheduled to occur today at the Newton Free Library has been CANCELED.
