A Farmstead Anniversary, PMC Reception, FroYo Grand Opening and More

A few things you need to know in Newton on July 31, 2013.

1. Happy One Year Anniversary, Farmstead Table! We hear you're serving cake today (but reservations were necessary, so call ahead).

2. The Second Annual Newton Pan-Mass Challenge Reception will take place Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Terry O'Reilly's in Newton Centre. Mayor Setti Warren will be joined by PMC founder Billy Starr and guests will also have a chance to learn about Wellcoin from its founder, Newton resident Glenn Lafell.

3. Reminder. Your first quarter FY2014 tax bills are due Aug. 1.

4. ICYMI. Newton officials and Korean Consul General Kang-ho Park came together at City Hall Monday to honor Newton veterans who served in the Korean War.

5. Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt is celebrating the grand opening of its new location just over the Needham line on Highland Street. From 6 p.m.-11 p.m., customers will receive a free 8-ounce cup of froyo.
