Newton Attorney Mistaken For Immigrant In Email: Report

NEWTON, MA — A local immigration attorney and American citizen wrongly received an email from the Department of Homeland Security telling her to leave the country within one week, according to a report from The Express Tribune.

40-year-old Nicole Micheroni said the email appeared in her inbox this past Friday, and it said that her parole status had been terminated, and she had to leave the United States. The Newton native described the message as threatening in tone. She expressed her belief that this mistake could further decrease the trust people have in President Donald Trump and his administration’s attention to detail with its deportation efforts.
