Lock your car: Someone called to report their car was broken into while it was parked on Commonwealth Avenue.

Knocking: An Adams Ave resident called police just after 1:30 a.m. to a report a man was knocking on the interior door of her screened in porch and she was frightened. As police were speaking with the woman a car alarm went off nearby. Officers went to check and found a car one street over with the interior light on, but no one around and the car cold to the touch. "Out of concern for possible car/house breaks that were actively occurring, officers immediately began canvassing the neighborhood," according to the report. As they were doing that another Adams Avenue resident called to say they just saw a man, described as black, run out of a backyard into the street toward Lexington Street. Shortly after, police found a man walking near the corner of Adams Ave and Moody St, right where Lexington St turns into Moody Street. With the help of Waltham Police, officers arrested Donnel P. Jonas, 24, homeless, and charged him with attempting to commit a crime - to wit B&E Nighttime, for felony and disorderly conduct - running through backyards and into the street, causing neighbors to call police.
