Cookie Monstah Opening In Newton This Week

NEWTON, MA — The Cookie Monstah Bake Shop is set to open its newest location in Newton on Wednesday, Dec. 11.

The store, which will be located on 849 Washington St. at The Trio apartment complex in Newtonville, will be the local chain’s eighth location since it was founded in 2012. Founder Melissa Gale said that the demand for her company’s offerings was present in the city.

“Area resident and store manager Renee Blumenthal is committed to connecting the store with the locals and having the store become a fabric of the community,” Gale said.

The store offers a wide variety of cookies baked daily, which are complimented by Richardson’s Ice Cream. The menu also includes frappes, floats, and gluten-free options. The company began as one food truck but is continuing to expand throughout the Boston area with seven trucks in addition to the eight stores. Newton will join Danvers, Burlington, Swampscott, Needham, Beverly, North Andover, and Reading as the communities where a Cookie Monstah can be found.
