A zoning presentation, a Relay for Life benefit and School Committee meets to vote on the budget.

1. School Committee. The Newton School Committee will meet tonight at 7 p.m. in the Education Center. The committee will hold a regular meeting but will also . Other agenda items include an update on the new middle school transition plan for Cabot Elementary.
2. Zoning presentation. Interested in improving Newton's zoning? The city will host a presentation tonight that will cover assessment of Newton's zoning and recommended changes from Code Studio, a zoning consultant. The presentation will be held at 6 p.m. in the War Memorial at Newton City Hall.
3. Benefit Relay for Life...by eating pizza. Relay for Life of Newton/Brookline is hosting a "DoughRaiser" tonight at Uno's in Newton Corner. Dine in or take out all day and up to 20 percent of the profits will be donated back to the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life. Just print out the coupon here and give it to your server.

4. Interested in a rain barrel? The city is partnering with the Great American Rain Barrel Company in Hyde Park, Mass. to bring Newton residents discounted rain barrels. Deadline to order is April 19 and pickup will be available on Sat., April 27. What's a rain barrel? What can it do? Where can I order? More info is available on the city's website.
5. Go Tigers! The Newton North girls varsity softball team will face Weymouth in a home match today at 3:45 p.m.
