Finance Committee meets, a Suzuki School of Newton concert and calling hours for Alderman Merrill.

1. Calling hours for Alderman Merrill. Calling hours will be held today at the Eaton & Mackay Funeral Home in Newton Corner from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. The funeral will be held tomorrow, Jan. 29, at the Newton Cemetery Chapel in Newton Centre at 11 a.m.
2. Finance Committee. The Finance Committee will meet tonight at 7 p.m. in room 222 at City Hall. Among other items, the committee will take up discussion on possibly increasing the fine for putting snow and ice onto sidewalks, streets or bridges. 3. School Committee meeting canceled. Tonight's School Committee meeting has been canceled. The next meeting will be held on Monday, Feb. 11 at 7 p.m. in the Education Center.

4. Suzuki School of Newton concert. The Suzuki School of Newton will present a group concert tonight at 5:30 p.m. in the Newton Cultural Center. The free concert will feature cello, flute and guitar students as well as the Suzuki School of Newton Sinfonia.
