NEWTON, MA — We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented and changing times.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these heroes making a difference in their communities. Together with Ring, we're working to let all your neighbors know about these outstanding people and their stories.

This submission comes from Becky Manley who nominated Stacey Sacks of Newton. Sacks' day job is at Boston Scientific, but she also works as a volunteer at Multi-Service Eating Disorders Association, which Manley founded.

Manley describes Sacks as someone who has been volunteering and co-leading a MEDA support group for parents and families who have a child or spouse struggling with an eating disorder. She said Sacks has given countless hours of time helping families help their loved one.

"Stacey is an incredible listener, powerful advocate and has helped so many parents and families at the Multi-Service Eating Disorders Association (MEDA). Often times parents feel isolated, devastated and overwhelmed. Stacey gives families hope and support" said Manley.
