President Obama Recognizes Lasell College Student for Marathon Volunteer Work
The student who was honored is a senior at the Newton college.

A senior at Newton's Lasell College was one of a handful of students President Barack Obama invited to last week's interfaith service for the Marathon bombing victims.
Chelsea Ouellette (Lasell '13) was recognized for helping provide medical assistance to Marathon runners through the Lasell Athletic Training and Exercise Science Department, according to a post on the Lasell College website.
Obama invited a total of five local college students who were medical assistants during the marathon, the website said. In addition to Ouellette, the other students invited to the interfaith service came from Boston University, Bridgewater State University, Salem State University and Merrimack College.

Last week's interfaith service, which was held at Church of the Holy Cross in Boston's South End, featured remarks from Obama as well as Gov. Deval Patrick and various faith leaders. It honored the victims of the April 15, 2013 Boston Marathon bombings.
