Lasell Women's Soccer Picked 3rd In GNAC Preseason Poll

Lasell will open the season at home against Eastern Connecticut State University on Wednesday, September 1.

NEWTON, MA — The Lasell University women's soccer team, known as the Lasers, has been voted to finish in third place in the 2021 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Preseason Coaches' Poll.

Johnson & Wales University received 12 out of a possible 14 first-place votes with 193 points, Saint Joseph's College of Maine finished second with 177 points and one first-place tally, and Lasell finished third with 167 points and one first-place tally.

Lasell will open the season at home against Eastern Connecticut State University on Wednesday, September 1. The team will then play five straight road games, including the GNAC opener at Emmanuel College on Saturday, September 11, followed by four consecutive home games in October. The final regular-season game against Regis College will take place on Wednesday, October 27.

This season, the Lasers will be lead by veteran head coach Vito La Francesca and include 13 veteran players, as well as several newcomers.

The 2021 GNAC Tournament will begin on Saturday, October 30 with quarterfinals, followed by the semifinals on Wednesday, November 3 and the championship on Saturday, November 6.
