Newton officials got the first look at what the new Angier School will look like, and got the good news that the project came in on budget, according to a report in the Boson Globe.
The three-story school in Waban will have nearly 75,000 square feet of space. It replaces one built in 1919, will cost $37.5 million. Some of the cost will be paid for by a tax increase approved by city voters in March and about $10 million will come from the state, according to the Globe report.
Newton school officials hope to sign a project agreement with the Massachusetts School Building Authority this fall, start construction in summer 2014 and be completed by fall 2016.
