New City Clerk Takes Over In Newton
The new clerk's tenure began this week after being hired by city leadership earlier this month.

NEWTON, MA — Drew Willison began his tenure as the city’s new City Clerk this week.
Earlier this month, the City Council appointed Willison to the position after considering both him and acting clerk Cassidy Flynn for the permanent job. Flynn took over in an interim role for Carol Moore who left her position earlier this year. Willison was named the clerk after the council’s vote passed by a count of 21 in favor versus two opposed and one absent.
Willison’s work history includes time as the Chief of Staff for former United States Sen. Harry Reid. He also worked for the Senate as the Sergeant at Arms.
