New Salon Welcomes Clients in Newton Highlands

Station Row opened Wednesday on Lincoln Street in Newton Highlands.

There's a new cut, color and style game in town.

Stylist Matt Carlson is bringing his extensive styling background to Newton Highlands with the opening on his upscale salon, Station Row, on Wednesday, May 15.

Calson said in a press release that he was drawn to the "sophisticated charm" of Lincoln Street in Newton Highlands and wanted to be part of the neighborhood.

"I wanted to create an environment that is sleek and modern while also relaxing and intimate," Carlson said in the release. "This space immediately felt right, with its high ceilings and natural light, and the neighborhood feel of Lincoln Street makes it especially welcoming.”

The salon is located at 41 Lincoln St., and features a revolving display of local art in a modern space.

Station Row, Carlson said, is a culmination of his nearly two decades in the styling business. He comes to Newton with a history of working in high-end Newbury Street salons and, most recently, founding and co-owning an award-winning salon in Wellesley.

Carlson hand-picked the five stylists who are joining him at Station Row, where they will offer cuts, color and color correction services; foils; deep conditioning treatments; keratin treatments; blowouts and special occasion styling.

"It's essential to have a team that shares my commitment to offering the highest quality services and being approachable to clients," Carlson said. "But they each have an individual style and approach that enhances the creativity of our work."

Station Row is open Tuesday-Saturday from 9 a.m.-7 p.m. and appointments can be made by calling (617) 796-0123.
