Newton Prostitution, Stabbing, Cocaine: Grand Jury Indictments
The District Attorney announced three Newton related indictments handed down by the Grand Jury between January 17 and April 29, 2019.

NEWTON, MA — The District Attorney announced three Newton related indictments handed down by the Grand Jury between January 17 and April 29, 2019. One related to sex trafficking, another related to intent to murder and a third related to cocaine trafficking.
Prostitution: Dirisu Alasa, Jr., 26, of Randolph, was charged with trafficking of a person for sexual servitude and deriving support from prostitution. The Assistant District Attorney is Caitlin Gemmill.
Drugs: Joseph Caira, 61, of Newton, was charged with trafficking over 36 grams of cocaine, possession with intent to distribute a Class A substance, subsequent offense, possession of ammunition and being a habitual criminal. Stabbing: Chad Kirby, 38, of Quincy, was charged with armed assault with intent to murder and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. Police found the victim, a 53-year-old Watertown man, bleeding from a head wound outside a CVS on Watertown Street in 2017.
