Newton Public Schools Will Have An Early Release Due To Snow

Newton preschools will get out at 12:00 p.m., elementary schools at 12:10 p.m., middle schools at 11:20 a.m. and high schools at 12:45 p.m.

NEWTON, MA – Newton Public Schools announced over Twitter that Tuesday will do an early release due to the predicted inclement weather.

Newton preschools will get out at 12:00 p.m., elementary schools at 12:10 p.m., middle schools at 11:20 a.m. and high schools at 12:45 p.m.

Buses will be running, but all after school activities are cancelled, according to the Tweet.

All polls (including at Newton public libraries and schools) will be open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. City Hall is staying open until 5 p.m.

According to the National Weather Service, the Tuesday afternoon forecast is for snow, possibly mixed with rain. Breezy, with a north wind 20 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 41 mph. The chance of precipitation is 100 percent. New snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches is possible.
