Newton Special Election Polling Sites Remain Open Despite Nor’easter
Polling sites at Newton public school locations and all locations remain open until 8 p.m. Tuesday.

NEWTON, MA – While Newton public schools are closing early, polling sites at school locations and all other locations will remain open until 8 p.m. Tuesday for special election voting.
The announcement was made over Twitter by Newton Public Schools, as well as on the City website.
Newton City Hall will stay open until 5 p.m.

The Newton Public Library will close at noon to library patrons but will stay open for the polls.
Newton voters will vote on a Proposition 2 ½ override proposal totaling nearly $15 million in real estate and personal property taxes for public schools, senior services, and more.

The proposed override consists of three ballot questions: two questions on debt exclusions to provide funding for the Countryside and Franklin school projects, and a third question on an additional $9 million for municipal and school operating and capital expenses.
