Newton's Oak n'Barrel Celebrates Successful First Year
The family-owned spirit boutique on Centre Street expects only continued growth moving forward.
NEWTON, MA — Oak n’Barrel, a boutique that specializes in spirit, beer, and wine sales has reached the one-year milestone since it first opened on 1255 Centre St.
The store is the second Newton-based business of the Patel brothers, as it came on the heels of the restaurant Baramor, which launched in 2019.
Since its opening, Oak n’Barrel has aimed to provide a unique experience to its customer base. According to a press release, the boutique has two points of emphasis it seeks to accomplish. The first, titled “Elevated Experiences,” is defined by the store’s guided and interactive tasting events, which are offered on a weekly basis.

The second, “Commitment to Community,” highlights the primary charity initiative of the business, called “Spirited Givings.” Oak n’Barrel donates 10 percent of its monthly proceeds to local charities, such as Newton at Home, Newton Community Pride, and Last Hope K9 Rescue. In its first year of operation, the store donated more than $2,300.
The Patel brothers have made building relationships with other family-owned and local businesses through co-hosted events a priority moving forward.
