One Candidate Currently Vying For Newton Mayoral Position

NEWTON, MA — Marc Laredo is currently the only candidate running for Mayor.

Earlier this week, Ruthanne Fuller announced she would not be running for reelection after serving seven years in the position. Laredo, City Council President, officially announced his campaign for the position. He has served on the City Council for 12 years, and before that was a member of the School Committee for eight years.

The Newton native works as an attorney and is the founder of Laredo, Smith & Kane, LLP.
Fuller emphasized that she will be fully dedicated to her position for the remaining 394 days of her term.
