Police Log: 'Trashy' Theft, Vehicle B&Es, Trespassing

'Trashy' Theft

A resident on Levbert Road came into the Newton Police Station May 15 to report that his blue, city-issued trash bin had been stolen overnight.

Work Site Burglary

A worker at a Cyprus Street work site reported that he arrived at work on May 16 to find a chain had been cut away from a large toolbox and several power tools had been stolen.

Vehicle B&Es and Arrests

At 4:28 a.m. on May 18, several Newton Police units were sent to the area of Lewis Terrace and Newtonville Avenue after a report of someone going through a vehicle on Lewis Street.

Police received an update on the way to the location that the suspect had been spotted walking toward Newtonville Avenue. Subsequently, an officer located three men on the Lewis Terrace Bridge.

According to police reports, Bruno Daconceicao, 20, of 232 Franklin St.; Christopher Mackay, 19, of 137 Craft St.; and David Anthony Proia, 20, of 13 Cottage Court were each charged with one count of breaking and entering a motor vehicle. Proia will also be charged with possession to distribute Class D.

Trespassing Just Got Worse

Newton Police responded to an apartment building on Dalby Street May 18 for a report of someone sleeping in the basement.

Police arrested Caleb J. Bickford, 29, of 81 Highpoint Road in Marstons Mills, for violation of a no trespass order.

Bickford was subsequently charged at Newton Police Headquarters with lewdness, open and gross.
