Runners World Bringing a New Half Marathon to Newton
June 6-8 will be a runner's dream, with three runs, including a half marathon along the Boston Marathon route.

The first ever Heartbreak Half & Festival will kick off from the top of Heartbreak Hill this June.
The event features a 5K run, a 10K run and a half marathon along the Boston Marathon route and will be sponsored by Runners World. It begins on Commonwealth Avenue in Chestnut Hill near Boston College, according to an announcement for the event.
"We're thrilled to be coming to the Boston area for the Runner's World
Heartbreak Hill Half & Festival in June 2014," said Runner's World General
Manager and Editor-in-Chief David Willey. "The running and racing
tradition in New England is unlike anywhere else, and the opportunity to
feature Heartbreak Hill as part of a Runner's World event is very exciting."
The event begins on Friday, June 6 with a children's race at 6 p.m. On Saturday, June 7, the 5K begins at 7 a.m., and the 10K starts at 8:30 a.m. The centerpiece of the weekend, the half marathon, starts at 7:30 a.m. on June 8.
The festival will feature speakers and more. Dave McGillivray and his DMSE Sports team will be the Festival's race director.
