'She Has Single Handedly Changed Our Model': Newton Local Hero
We all know someone who's making a difference. Let's help share their stories. Presented by Ring.

NEWTON, MA — We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented and changing times.
Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these heroes making a difference in their communities. Together with Ring, we're working to let all your neighbors know about these outstanding people and their stories.
This submission comes from Megan Russel and Carol Berlin who nominated Cat Strahan of Newton. Russel is a fellow volunteer and Berlin is a board member at the Newton Food Pantry where Strahan volunteers.

Berlin said when this pandemic began, the volunteer-led pantry had to switch on a dime from being a choice pantry to only serving pre-packaged goods. She and Russel described Strahan as stepping up to the plate to make it happen.
"Cat Strahan has been an extremely dedicated volunteer who has worked tirelessly for our clients during the COVID-19 crisis," said Russel "She has single-handedly changed our distribution model to ensure that our clients in senior complexes in Newton receive food."

Russel said one thing people should know about Strahan is this: "How tirelessly she has worked to help the food insecure in Newton during COVID-19."
Thank you for all you do, Cat Strahan!
