Tree Falls On House In Newton, Hundreds Without Power
Trash barrels, power lines and a lot of leaves are blowing around out there.

NEWTON, MA — More than 500 people are without power in Newton and police are warning residents to be careful out there, after a tree fell onto a house on Harrington Street, and they've had to send crews to respond to several calls involving trees or wires down.
So far no injuries have been reported.
The National Weather Service has a high wind advisory in place until 7 p.m. tonight and has already recorded gusts of more than 60 miles per hour.

"Be safe out there and if you see downed wires call 911 and stay away from them," police tweeted.
Harrington Street is closed as crews take care of the tree on the house there.

Trees and wires have fallen across the road on Concord St in Lower Falls, prompting police and fire to close off Concord Street.

More than 60,000 customers across the state were without power heading into Monday evening. By 5 p.m. more than 500 customers were without power in Newton. Batten down the hatches and make sure all of your devices are charged and you know where that flashlight is.
In Newton, gusts of wind are beating pedestrians and depositing litter and leaves and the leftover salt from the roads into the faces and hair of anyone who dares to walk out into it. If you have a trash barrel out on the street, bring it in, because those are blowing around, too.
Gusts could get as strong as 70 miles per hour, officials said.
