When is the Last Day of School in Newton?

Although the cool weather this week has made it feel like winter again, Newton school officials are hoping the snow days are done for this school year.

The Newton School Committee voted Monday night to approve June 26, 2013 as the last day of school for Newton students, according to School Committee Secretary Dede Reade.

The last day of school, a Wednesday, will be a half day for students.

Newton teachers' last day has not been officially set, Reade said.

The 2012-2013 Newton Public School calendar initially set the last day for June 25, which accounts for five snow days. However, with six snow days this year, the district had to push the last day out to June 26.
