Woman Says Man Tried to Grab Her on the Street in Newton

The unknown man grabbed the woman's arm while she stopped her car on the side of the road.

A woman left Newton City Hall and noticed her truck was open, so she pulled over on Homer Street, and when she got out a man tried to grab her multiple times.

As she went to close the trunk, an unknown man approached her and grabbed her by the arm and tried to pull her toward the sidewalk, according to Newton Police. She pulled her arm away, but the man grabbed her arm a second time.

She screamed at him to to get away, police said, and he told her he was just trying to help.

The woman drove home and called police.

The suspect is described as a white man, 5-foot-10, in his early 30s, clean shaven, short dark hair, and wore blue jeans and a blue fleece top.

Police searched the area but could not find the suspect.
