DiZoglio Receives Committee Assignments

Education and election laws will be her focus.

State Rep. Diana DiZoglio has settled into her new office on Beacon Hill, and she's received her committee assignments.

DiZoglio will serve on the Committee on Election Laws, the Committee on Education and the Committee on Steering, Policy and Scheduling.

"I am especially pleased to receive the assignments to Education and Election laws," DiZoglio said in a statement. "Being on Education will give me the opportunity to hear ideas from around the Commonwealth that can be applied to bringing positive changes concerning our district's unique needs."

DiZoglio, of Methuen, won the 14th Essex seat after defeating State Rep. David Torrisi in the Democratic Primary and Republican Karin Rhoton in the general election.

"Also, I have recently filed and co-sponsored bills that would bring about more accountability to the election process and ballot access," DiZoglio continuesd. "This is an issue that has recently raised concerns, not only around the 14th Essex District, but around the Commonwealth. My assignment to Election Laws affords me a vote in committee to make sure that important pieces of legislation make it to the House floor for a vote–giving me a slightly stronger voice to make sure these reforms are passed."
