North Andover Cancels Sunday's Farmers Market Due To Expected Heat
The National Weather Service's Sunday forecast calls for mostly sunny skies with a high temperature near 100 degrees.
NORTH ANDOVER, MA —The North Andover Farmers Market announced Thursday that Sunday's market has been canceled due to expected hot temperatures.
"Due to the excessive heat advisory forecast for this weekend, this Sunday's market will be canceled. Please stay safe and visit us next week," organizers said in a statement.
The market, held at the intersection of First Street and Main Street, normally takes place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Sunday from mid-June to early October. The market is scheduled to resume on July 31.

MassLive.com reported that the advisory may be extended to Friday and Saturday in certain areas. The NWS regional office in Boston said a heat advisory could be issued again Sunday across large swaths of the region.
On Thursday night, a forecast for thunderstorms could see temperatures drop into the 70s. But Friday's forecast in North Andover calls for a high temperature of 95 degrees, while Saturday's high is 96 degrees.
