North Andover Car Crash Victims Were Brooks School Students

Three of the four teenagers remained hospitalized on Friday, two days after the single-car crash in North Andover.

NORTH ANDOVER, MA — Three of the four teenagers that escaped from a fiery, single0car crash in North Andover remained hospitalized Friday. All four are students at the Brooks School in North Andover. The crash was reported around 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

One of the students, a male, was in critical but stable condition after being taken by helicopter to Brigham and Women's Hospital from the crash scene. Two other passengers were transferred from Lawrence General Hospital to hospitals in Boston. The fourth student was treated at Lawrence General and released.

Police initially described the injuries as "serious to moderate." They say the driver lost control of the Jeep Cherokee and it veered off the road, hitting a boulder and a tree. It then swerved back into the road and burst into flames. Criminal charges have not been filed and police do not believe drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash.
