If you see a pothole, a missed trash pick-up or a tree down, you'll soon be able to let the town know with just a a few touches on your smartphone.
North Andover was selected as one of nine pilot communities for the Citizens Connect program.
Citizens Connect offers a mobile app for reporting issues that affect the community. It's also an order management system that allows town staff to respond, assign and track the reports.
The app -- expected to be available for download on iPhones and Android smartphones on Jan. 15 -- uses geodynamic branding to analyze your exact location when you submit a report of an issue.

With the app, you can submit a photo of the issue, select a category of the problem it is, add a comment and even track the progress of the issue as it moves through the process.
The app will produce detailed reports so officials can analyze data about which issues are prevailant in which areas.
The grant is for three years. It is unknown how much the program will cost per month after that, since a lot can change in that time. The town will be able to examine the use and effect of the program before then to determine if it is worth keeping.
