Even 35 years later, that historic storm still looms in memory for many.

Today marks the 35th anniversary of the Blizzard of '78.

On February 5, 1978, a massive blizzard moved in on New England and New York, and dumped more than two feet of snow on most areas before subsiding on Feb. 7. Many people were snowed in for days, even weeks.

The blizzard caused about 100 deaths and more than half a billion dollars in damage.
