Who's Running For Office This Year?

Deadlines have passed for taking out nomination papers, and the candidate list for the March 26 local election is out.

And what a short list it is.

Selectman Rosemary Smedile will run for reelection unopposed. Smedile, who has served on the Board of Selectmen for 12 years, runs her family's real estate business, Connelly Real Estate Inc. She also serves as chair of the North Andover Town Republican Committee.

Mary Beth Soucy is running for the North Andover Housing Authority, unopposed as well.

The only campagn with an actual race will be that of the School Committee. recently back from college in South Carolina and fresh off the heels of helping to run Karin Rhoton's campaign for state representative, will be on the ballot running against former teacher and education consultant Zora Warren.
